Friday night in Denver is the last honest preseason tape

The Packers go to Empower Field on August 21. Starters will play a little. Everyone else is playing for a roster cut.
Preseason football is a lie we agree to watch anyway. The Packers at the Broncos on Friday night is the last tape that still means something before cuts get ugly.
Green Bay does not need moral victories in August. It needs an offensive line that does not put the quarterback on the ground in October, a returner who can be trusted inside the 10, and a young edge who looks like a plan instead of a hope.
Lambeau will be loud in two weeks. Denver will be thin air and evaluation. Watch the interior. Watch who is still in there after the first series. And ignore the final score the way a scout does — unless the special teams give you a reason not to.
